My my my this has been an frustrating month with Link's development. As I am a very organized artist, I have an excel sheet that I use as a guide for each character I make. I go from top, to bottom, and October was supposed to be the month I tackled the intro and victory animations. I wasn't even able to complete one, intro or victory animation, let alone finish them all. That's partly because they kept changing, and some animations were taking far too long to make. Not to mention, a huge chunk of the month was dedicated to making most sprites from scratch, and I made a lot of perspectives of Link's face, hands, sword, shield, ect...
Because of what I have planned for the first intro animation, I was obligated to actually make the animation for one of the specials first (one of several spin attacks). But since that ended up being the wrong spin attack, I ended up having to make another spin attack. So I actually have a couple of specials done, before I had ever gotten to the intros, victories, or standard attacks. I'm still working on getting everything I need to make the first couple of intros and victory animations, and this pattern could very well go into November as well.
It's not a total loss, however, as I did complete a pretty difficult animation for Link, his great spin attack. The standard spin attack was much easier as reference for it was much easier to obtain. Very early in the month I also made his bottle whack animation, and at the end of it, I somehow ended up making his spinner attack, which he rides briefly. I also made his taunt animation where Midna makes a quick appearance, and his Ending Blow animation, which has been the most sprites for Link yet.
