Half the month Of June consisted of a big case of the covid for me, which meant that I had lots and lots of time to work on Lara. She went from 63% done to 97% in less than two weeks. I completed all of the standard attacks, jumping attacks and crouching attacks. Besides that, I have also completed all twelve of her specials, not to mention both of her victory and intro animations have also been fully developed. That's a grand total of 28 animations.
Remaining for Lara Croft are her 2 hypers, 1 optional intro and 1 optional victory animation. The optional animations aren't needed, but would be nice to include to display her personality more. After that, I can make the remaining special effects I haven't gotten to yet (blood from her ice axe) and tidy up the palette on the spritesheet One thing that does concern me is one of the hypers, which I want to include the T-Rex. But it's so big I don't know how to fit it on the screen. I guess have it squat the whole time and shrink it as small as is visibly allowable? I'll figure it out. Hopefully...
I look forward to throwing her in fighter factory and having her move around. I look forward to adding her to the roster of characters I've already made. Most importantly I'm looking forward to never, ever having to work on her ever again. This is the first character I made, that I hated making almost the entire way through. I did it because I was encouraged to by a couple of people, and because she's the most worthy female game character there is to make.
When I make characters, my intention is to make them to a point where there's no reason for anyone to ever make their own version of that character, because there's nothing they can do to improve or surpass it. With that being said, I really need to go back and fix some things with the characters I completed. Most notably, their grabbed and grab animations. Some don't have it at all. Others need work. But I'll get to that asap.
