A huge milestone for one month of work. In April I hadn't made much progress with Lara outside of her guarding sprites. In May, I wanted to catch up on that and went overboard. All of her damaged animations are complete. I even added one or two extra ones as well. Unlike most of the time, I added in a "hard" damaged animation instead only her heavy animation (where she gets knocked off her feet). I finished this off with her K.O. and knocked down sprites. At one point I decided to start making her large portrait sprite, but ended up finishing it in a few hours. For some reason hers was a lot easier than Auron's to make. Maybe I'm just getting better at it though. Not sure.
Next following her damaged animations came her movement animations. Her walking animation now resides next to the running animation in the completion department. Her retreat animation, jumping upwards animation, jumping forwards animation, and her back jumping animation are also finished. These were more difficult than the other characters' animations I've made so far and stand out much more because Lara is known for her acrobatics. So I can't leave it to a couple of sprite frames. These are a lot more fluid. For example, her back jump is actually a back flip. I'm very happy with how it turned out, especially since I've never made a backflip before, ever.
After her jumping animations were finished, I went back to complete her recover animation, wanting to get any animations associated with damages out of the way. Then because I was at 49% complete, I decided to finally do one of her attacks. I made her pistol firing animation on the 30th and then completed the animation on the 31st.
Next up, I want to continue to work on her attack animations, but I also still need to do her victory and intro animations. I'm stalling on those since I'm not sure yet how I want her to move as she says her lines. I'm not even sure if I'll have her move that much at all, since she usually stands around whenever she says something snarky.
