Merry Christmas ya filthy animal. Auron has been either far too difficult to develop, or overly simple. There's no in-between with him. I moved onto his jumping and crouching sprites, so that I could get him to move around a bit, without having to create new assets... yet. He barely moves his upper body anyway during neutral motions, so it's not noticeable. Happily, I've already finished most of his damaged animations.
Right now I'm development one of his most difficult animations... *sigh*... his running animation. It will hardly be seen but it's so important to include. Although I have references for it, they are blurry, expanded images that's difficult to make out the image entirely. Mere hours before writing this entry, I had finally completed the first frame. It took 14 hours to do. Thankfully, the other frames will have something to go off of with the new side view of frame 1. This December I intend to finish his running animation.
After his running animation there's another, possibly even more difficult animation I'll have waiting for me, which is his intro. That's a bit further down the line however, and I still have to finish all of Auron's damaged animations. His tripped animation, air damaged animation and his heavily damaged animation still remain. Intros are a B level necessity for characters. They aren't required for the character to function, but they are required to showcase their identity.
On a side note, I've begun my own portfolio for these sort of characters with originals. I want to make at least ten and then move onto other stuff, but I want a lot of different portfolios so that I can work for myself as a freelancer.
