A couple of days after the New Year I had completed Auron's final Intro animation. It took some time, and even after the agony of ditching a couple of unnecessary frames that were painstakingly difficult to make, I'm very happy with how it turned out. So happy that after a quick 5 minute break, I decided to make his taunt animation. It came out alright, and it wasn't that much of a hassle.
Prior to his final intro, I of course made his first one, him toasting his wine jug to his opponent and then putting it on his belt. I made his defeat animation as well, which was incredibly difficult since the pyreflies I made put a massive weight on my system and either slows it down incredibly each time I make a change, or it crashes the program. So I unfortunately have to call it complete on that one. I can have the effect appear twice and make it a helper, but I'm not looking forward to coding that. In a sense I'm not entirely satisfied with it and it's too quick, but it will have to do. I just wish I could make them longer and more numerous... Anyway, I also made his victory animation, which I'm more or less happy with, but it's not perfect. I'm just not sure how to make it more perfect than it is. Maybe I'll notice what it needs later...
These animations were the most difficult and lengthy of this entire character, outside of maybe specials. I have been dreading them since I decided to make Auron HD. All that is missing now are his attacks and specials and I'm looking forward to knocking those out. Before that, I really want to remake his walk animation, now that I have a side view of him. Several, actually... I wonder how much of him I'll get done this month. If it's anything like December, I'll probably be finished with his animations by the end of February.
